Fürjesi’s new series of paintings chronicles everyday happenings, individual human stories –the compositions teeter on the verge of real and surreal. As dr. Róbert Nátyi defines: “Fürjesi invokes the historical memory of the recent past and summons the hidden experiences that lurk in the back of our minds (…) as if he said that we need to analyze and evaluate the events of the past in order to interpret ourselves in its continuity”.
Printmaking traditionally plays a special role in Dresden. For example, the Museum of Prints and Drawings of the State Art Collections is one of the most important art museums for drawings, prints and photographs in the world. This “Museum of Masterpieces” features world-famous drawings and graphic works by Dürer, van Eyck, Rembrandt, Michelangelo and Caspar David Friedrich, as well as Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso and Baselitz. In addition, there are rare examples from the history of artistic photography.
